Anne Benson Stables, training and riding lessons


We offer English riding lessons for those interested in showing or if you just want to have fun! It is also a great source of exercise and teaches balance and strengthens your body core. Riding lessons at Anne Benson Stables are safe, fun and friendly. We are licensed, fully insured and have both indoor and outdoor arenas for all weather enjoyment.

Farm Hours:
Closed Monday
Tue-Thu-Fri-Sat-Sun 9am-5pm
Wed-Fri 9am-6pm

Saturday afternoon we feature a horsemanship class. We also have camp days during school vacations and we host Tournament Shows for those competitive types!

What does it cost?
Lessons are scheduled Monday through Saturday. Lessons are $45 per half hour of ride time. Lessons can be scheduled to begin after school and into the early evenings. Please arrive ten minutes prior to your scheduled riding time to insure that you are ready to ride. Riders are welcome to stay for a few minutes after they ride if they would like to help untack their horse.

What should I wear?
You must wear long pants and closed shoes for your lesson. Shorts, skirts, and capri pants are not acceptable. Sandals or open-toed (or open-heeled) shoes are not safe. The preferred attire is riding jodphurs and boots. Click here for addtional suggestions and apparel page.

Cancellation Policy:
Please cancel your riding lesson at least 24 hours in advance. Lessons not cancelled 24 hours in advance are subject to a $25 cancellation fee, except in cases of bad weather or sudden illness.

Horse Shows -- Varies per show, check with your instuctor
We take lesson horses to several shows year around for Academy classes, which are a great way for you to try out a show without the expense of a full and proper wardrobe.
