Our Lesson Horses
Equinox Giovanni
(White Rock’s Caliopy x Equinox Pollyanna)
1999 Morgan Gelding
“Gio” is our go-to guy to take riders and drivers to the show ring for their first experience in the spotlight. He’s made victory passes from Oklahoma to Northampton with many different partners. Gio has been a great teacher from the beginning, and continues to educate while being a gentleman at all times.
Starboard’s Iz A Bella
(Stonecroft Byzantine x Liberation Bella Donna)
2003 Morgan Mare
Bella is everyone’s favorite! This gentle and dedicated girl has riders from 2 years old to 70 years old. Bella works hard for her riders every day and is the best academy show horse out there.
Bella’s dam was a Morgan Breeder Sweepstakes Grand Champion, and Bella is also a half sister to Lulu.
Cardinal Brook Byzy Talk
(Stonecroft Byzantine x Royalwood Speciality)
2006 Morgan Mare
Lulu has been a lesson horse her entire life. Although she is the youngest of our lesson trio, she is an old soul with a big personality. Lulu gives great lunge lessons and will take her riders safely outside for their first ride in the big ring.
Both Bella and Lulu are sired by Stonecroft Byzantine, a beautiful stallion that Anne rode to a World Championship!
Our ABS school horses are currently on a forced sabbatical due to the Coronavirus…
Our lesson horses usually earn their keep, and also pay Miss Rachel a living wage. However, at this time, we’re struggling to make it through to the other side of these trying times.
It costs $160 per week to provide feed, hay, bedding, supplements, farrier and veterinary care, plus labor, to provide a safe and healthy environment for our precious lesson masters. Every contribution is gratefully appreciated, no matter how small.
